Final Thoughts:

The Caps went out and did what they needed to do and that was get the jump early on the Rangers. They held on for a win and should have gotten Olie Kolzig the shutout. Troubling stats are the one goal on 17 shots in the first period and the declining shot production, including going 0 for 7 on the Power Play. Yes I am being nitpicky here but if these guys are serious about becoming playoff contenders, they'll need to fix these things. 16 down 66 to go.
