Caps vs. Rangers 11-11-2006 Preview

Washington Capitals (6-9; 16 points) vs. New York Rangers (9-7; 19 points):
Caps Game #16, Home Game #7, NHL Game #238

Verizon Center, Washington, D.C. 7:05 pm. Washington TV: Comcast SportsNet Mid-Atlantic. Radio WTEM 980-AM. New York TV: MSG2. Radio: ESPN Radio 1050-AM. NHL Center Ice: Comcast SportsNet Mid-Atlantic feed.

Tonight the Caps come back home after dropping their game Thursday night to the Hurricanes 5-0. They'll face the New York Rangers who are finishing up a three games in four nights road trip through the Southeast Division. The Rangers are looking for a sweep having won both games beating Florida 4-3 thanks to a gimmick on Thursday night and Atlanta 5-2 last night.

What Do I Expect Tonight?:

The Rangers blueline has been inconsistent to say the least here recently. The Rangers are finishing up a three games in four nights stretch on the road and are finishing up a stretch where they've played only once at home in 8 games. Last year the Caps were able to beat the Rangers twice at the Phone Booth and if the lessons of Thursday night have sunk in, I can't see how the Caps can't win tonight. The deck opening night was stacked in the Rangers favor, tonight is deck is stack in the Caps favor.

Editorial Note For The Dozen Readers Of This Blog:

Yep, once again due to work commitments I am unable to attend or watch tonight's game. (I've got pay the bills somehow) Therefore there will be no post-mortem tonight. (Trust me, I am upset about missing this game, but considering that the last two games I missed the Caps played well and they stunk up the joint on Thursday night when I was able to watch, maybe this isn't a bad thing...)
