Final Thoughts:
Yesterday I alluded to the Caps have the chance to spring the classic trap scenario and it looks like they did judging from the Ottawa team and media reaction. The Senators took the Caps lightly, the Caps got all the breaks they've been missing recently, and the Caps get out there with a win. With the highlights I saw on NHL Network; the Senators hit a lot of goalposts so the Caps clearly had luck on their side last night. Not that I'm complaining because a win is a win is a win and the Caps needed one badly. Otherwise, with his goal and assist last night, A.O. broke his tie with Jeff Halpern for 28th and tied Dainius Zubrus for 27th on the Caps All-Time scoring list at 216 points. Up next for A.O. is the late Gaetan Duschesne who passed away this past April. It is going to take A.O. some time to catch Duschesne as he posted 225 points in 451 games with the Caps.
16 down, 66 to go.
