Tonight the Caps look to get things going down in Carolina against the Hurricanes. The Canes sit atop the Southeast Division but have been alternating wins and loss over their last fives games. The Canes were last in action on Saturday night when they defeated the Florida Panthers at home 4-2.

What Do I Expect Tonight?:

This could be another high scoring affair as the Canes have the best offense in the NHL right now scoring 53 goals so far this season. However, their defense is middle of the pack which is why they are just above .500 on the season. Even without the Three Amigos who are currently injured, the Caps have the ability to generate the offense that they're looking for and will desperately need tonight in Raleigh. If the Caps can forecheck as tenaciously as they did in the home opener, the Caps could be alright because the Caps are going to need a strong defensive and goaltending performance tonight. The Canes are forgoing their morning skate today in favor of team meeting. Teams are usually more focused and intense right after a team meeting and Carolina has only lost twice at home this season.

Caps Nut Official Prediction:

Caps 2
Canes 3
Winner by Staal

(4-9 on the season)

Editorial Note For the Dozens of Readers of This Blog:

It's the first Monday of the month which means I have Council business to attend to. That means I will not be watching most of tonight's game which means no Post-Mortem later tonight.
