Caps @ Senators 11-8-2007 Preview

Washington Capitals (5-10; 11 points) @ Ottawa Senators (13-1; 26 points):
Caps Game #16, Road Game #10, NHL Game #225

ScotiaBank Place, Kanata, Ontario, Canada. 7:37 pm. Washington TV: Comcast Sportsnet Mid-Atlantic Plus. Radio: WWWT 1500-AM, 107.7 FM. Ottawa TV: A Channel. Radio: TEAM 1200-AM. NHL Center Ice: A Channel feed.

Tonight the Caps look to reverse their skid against the best team in the NHL. The Senators have lost only once all season (including the preseason) and that was to the Carolina Hurricanes on October 11th. The Senators are currently on an eight game winning streak after beating Toronto 5-1 on Tuesday night.

Ottawa Citizen: another chance for Emery, longing for the west. Ottawa Sun: Emery back, no Spezza though, look out for..., notes, Ottawa more popular than Toronto. Senators.com.

What Do I Expect Tonight?:

Well Ladies and Gentlemen, boys and girls, and children of all ages; if you're expecting the Caps to break out of their slump tonight, don't. While the Caps have the classic trap scenario set for the Senators, the Senators are not a flawed hockey team right now. They're second to only the Rangers in goals allowed and trail only Detroit and Carolina in goals scored. Could the Caps win tonight? Yes, it is possible, but not very likely considering we haven't been getting much in the way results recently.

Caps Nut Official Prediction:

Caps 2
Senators 5
Winner by Alfredsson

(6-9 on the season)

Editorial Note For the Dozens of Readers of This Blog:

I have a meeting tonight to attend so I'll be missing at least the first half of the game. Therefore once again there will be no Post-Mortem later tonight.
