Final Thoughts:

Geeze, just one roughing minor??? So much for "fight night." (I told you so...) Though who would you rather have, a player who racks up big points against the second worst team in the league or the guy who single handedly downs a division leader? Tough choice I know.... 31 down, 51 to go.

Washington Capitals (14-17: 35 points) vs. Philadelphia Flyers (8-23; 20 points):
Caps Game #32, Home Game #17, NHL Game #480

Verizon Center, Washington, D.C. 7:05 pm. Washington TV: Comcast SportsNet Mid-Atlantic. Radio: WTNT 570-AM. WTEM 980-AM. (Sorry, force of habit) Philadelphia TV: Comcast SportsNet Philadelphia. Radio: WWIP 610-AM. NHL Center Ice: Comcast SportsNet Mid-Atlantic feed.

Tonight the Caps play the second game of a back-to-back game at home for the first time this season when they face the woeful injury ravaged Philadelphia Flyers for the first time on home ice this season to open a three game homestand. The Caps have already swept the games in Philly with last Saturday's 5-3 win on the road. The Flyers 8-4 loss to the Penguin Scum on Wednesday night was their fifth in a row now and have not yet recorded a win in the month of December.

What Do I Expect Tonight?:

This is the type of game that can easily get away from the Caps if they aren't careful. After an emotional and hard fought victory in Atlanta last night, it would be very, very easy for the Caps to let their guard down and play an awful game against an awful team and lose the game. The Flyers have been off since Wednesday licking their wounds and could get an emotional boost with the return of Floppa Forsberg tonight. Hopefully, the Caps will avoid tonight's trap and won't be distracted by Joe Beninati and Craig Laughlin sitting between the benches tonight.
