Final Thoughts:

And the beat goes on folks. If somebody like Peerless doesn't beat me to it, I've have some interested numbers for you to chew on later today. I think you can figure out that they don't bode very well for Glen Hanlon.

18 down, 64 to go.

Washington Capitals (6-12; 13 points) @ Tampa Bay Lightning (9-9; 19 points):
Caps Game #19, Road Game #12, NHL Game #274

They say misery loves company and the Caps now limp into Tampa to face the Ning and the potential for more misery. The Ning beat the Caps last Saturday night 5-2 in D.C. which was game three of a four game winning streak for the Ning. The Ning last played on Wednesday night when they bombed Carolina, 6-1 on home ice. The Ning have lost only twice at home all season.

What Do I Expect Tonight?:

Once again the Caps have the classic "trap scenario" in their favor. The Ning are rolling along, they seem to have finally found their stride, and now they're playing a team that is struggling mightily. Anybody writing about the Caps right now is a broken record because the despite all the talk about bearing, the Caps are still not converting the chances that they are getting. They'll do it for one game and then not get the job done for the next 4-5 games. And forget that scoring one goal a night won't get the job done against a team like the Ning, you aren't going to win many games in the NHL period with the lackluster offense we've been showing so far.

Caps Nut Official Prediction:

Caps 2
Ning 6
Winner by Richards

(8-10 on the season)
