Caps vs. Sens 12-6-2006 Preview
Washington Capitals (11-15; 28 points) vs. Ottawa Senators (15-13; 31 points):
Caps Game #27, Home Game #14, NHL Game #405
Verizon Center, Washington, D.C. 7:05 pm. Washington TV: NewsChannel 8. Radio: WTNT 570-AM. Ottawa TV: None. Radio: TEAM 1200-AM. Canadian National TV: TSN. NHL Center Ice: TSN feed.
Tonight the Caps put their three game winning streak on the line against the Ottawa Senators, who have a four game winning streak of their own going. The Senators are coming off a 4-2 win over the Islanders last night in Long Island. This isn't the same Ottawa team that the Caps came back on in November to win 4-3 in overtime.

What Do I Expect Tonight?:
Unlike last month when Ottawa jumped out to a 3-0 lead and couldn't hold on, the Senators are now holding onto those leads and winning the games. Both teams are scoring at least four goals in their winning streaks so I wouldn't expect another sterling defensive performance. The one troubling aspect of the Caps two most recent wins is their inability to put the game away. The Caps allowed both Dallas and the Buffaslugs to get back into the game. This will eventually catch up to the Caps. The other question for the Caps is injuries, are they piling up on their skill players again? If so, this winning streak will be short lived.

Editorial Note For The Two Dozen Readers Of This Blog:
Once again due to work commitments, I will be unable to attend tonight's game. Therefore there will not be a Post-Mortem after tonight's game. (Hey, I've to pay for my tickets somehow.)
