Game 1 Caps vs. Rangers 4-15-2009 Wrap Up

The Local Yokels:

The Neutral Views:

The Other Side:

MSG.com. Newsday: one win, best player, notes. New York Daily News. New York Times. New York Post: stark contrast, Drury return, trying to do the impossible. Rangers.com.

Final Thoughts:

This is no time to panic folks because if we panic now, there's no way we'll get back into this series. False humility or not, the Rangers know that they were lucky last night because more often than not, the Caps were able to get the plays and chances that they were looking for on offense and misfired for reasons the Rangers and Henrik Lundqvist had nothing to do with. We think Nicklas Backstrom said it best that the Caps have to give Jose "Alvin, Simon," Theodore an earlier lead to protect in order to help him out. It would also be beneficial if the NHL would have their referees crack down on offensive interference but we've yelling and screaming about that for years to no avail.

Still four to go.
