College Football, Terps vs. Deacons 11-25-2006 Preview

Maryland Terrapins (8-3, 5-2) vs. Wake Forest Demon Deacons (9-2, 5-2):
Terps Game #12, Home Game #7

Chevy Chase Bank Field at Byrd Stadium, College Park, MD. 7:45 pm. Maryland Radio: WFHS 105.7-FM and WJFK 1300-AM in Bhawlmuher, WMAL 630-AM in Washington, D.C. Wake Forest Radio: WBRF 98.1-FM. National TV: ESPN.

Whodda thunk that this game tonight in College Park, MD would be as important as it is? Simply put, the winner tonight plays next week in Jacksonville, FL in the 2nd Annual ACC Championship Game. The loser will sit around and stew in their juices while waiting for a bowl bid to be announced on Sunday, December 3rd, 2006. Both teams are coming off of big loses from last week, Maryland to Boston College and Wake from Virginia Tech. However in light of Miami's win over B.C. on Thursday night, both teams are still in control of their own destiny.

What Do I Expect Tonight?:

Well, pain for the viewers outside of the Maryland and Wake Forest radio area for having to listen to Mike Patrick call tonight's game for starters... Maryland is favored by one which means that the bookies have been paying attention to the Terps and their style of play recently. The Terps have a chance to tonight to wrap up their first undefeated season at home since 2003. Don't expect some sort of high scoring wild shootout tonight as that is not the style of either team. Maryland has won the last seven games vs. Wake Forest and will be playing in front of a revved up home crowd. Wake has been a great story this season and Maryland has been a surprise to a lot of people. It is going to be a hard fought game, but I think Maryland is going to find a way to pull this game out tonight to set up a rematch in the ACC Championship against Georgia Tech.

Caps Nut Official Prediction:

Terps 17
Wake 14
