Caps vs. Bruins 4-11-2010 Post-Mortem

Sorry folks, we had some family business to attend to...  Onto the Battle Damage Assessment...

THE GOOD:
  • Alexander "Slappy" Semin notched his 40th goal of the year.
  • The regular season is finally over and no hint of major injuries heading into the Post-Season.
THE BAD:
  • In his last start before the Post-Season, Semyon "The Saviour" Varlamov did not have a strong outing.  Considering the first round opponent, this could be a huge problem.
  • Jason Chimera got hit with a bogus goaltender interference penalty early in the game (he was pushed into Tim Thomas) and then skated around with the wrong kind of chip on his shoulder and a big fat target on his back for the rest of the game.  He's got to keep his composure from here on out if he wants to be effective.
THE UGLY:
  • The game was decided by a gimmick.
  • Bruce Boudreau showed no interest in trying to win the gimmick.
Ok folks, not much to say other than the season is now thankfully over.  We'll be back shortly to start the playoff insults.
