Kudos to the NHL for "cracking down" on the unnecessary thuggery by fining New York Islander Jason Blake for his spearing of Penguin Scum and Canadian Diving Team Captain, Secondary Assist Cindy Crosby. I'm sure he'll really, really miss that $1,000 out of his $1.558 million salary for this season...

Uh, but inquiring minds also want to know, why wasn't that Buffaslug Scumbag Daniel Briere similarly fined for doing the same thing to A.O.? You mean to tell me that the NHL couldn't find a video clip of it?

Sorry, but this comes across more like a mixed message instead of a strong message.

And before you Penguin Scum jump up in unison, yes, I am well aware that your Scumbag Ryan Whitney was fined more $$$$$ than Blake was (but only $500 dollars more). Which only further underscores my point that the NHL isn't taking this stuff seriously enough.
