Tonight the Caps and the Canes open the Caps home schedule and the Canes road schedule with both teams still looking for their first win of the season. The Caps lost their opener on Thursday night 5-2 to the Rangers. The Canes played last night at home and dropped their second being shutout by the Devils 4-0.

What The Natives Are Saying:

(Com)Post: Top line reunited, (and it feels so good). Mike Wise: (Just a little) Patience (yeaaaaaaaaa!) Times: Sending out an S.O.S. game preview. Caps pdf game notes. Caps hurting. (Sorry, I can't think of any more cheesy song references)

Open Source Intelligence:

Durham Herald Sun on last night's game vs. Joisey. Tonight starts a seven game road trip for the Canes who reduced the RBC Center's capacity. Raleigh News and Observer Preview. Raleigh News and Observer on last night's loss. still has not been updated.

Neutral Views:, AP wire.

What Do I Expect Tonight?

A better effort by the Caps for starters. With the line of A.O., Dainius Zubrus, and Captain Chris Clark being reassembled, hopefully the Caps will be able to generate some more meaningful offense tonight. The Canes are playing their first game on the road after losing two at home. They are starting a seven game road trip and are playing their third game in four nights. The home crowd should give the Caps some extra emotion the way it did the Rangers and the Caps should have the edge going into tonight's game.
