Final Thoughts:
First of all, while we were happy with the quantity of shots taken by the Caps last night, the quality of shots needs to improve. 14 shots from in close is great, but more are needed and more rebounds need to be put back at Halak. Halak played well, but he didn't play great, we don't remember any big, highlight reel saves that he made last night. The Caps need to realize that and not let him get inside their heads. Not mention, that they wore out a much better goaltender last April. Secondly, we're not too concerned about Captain A.O. not getting a shot on goal. Could he have played better? Yeah, but make no mistake, the Canadiens are not going to let him beat them. He could have had a goal if he had driven to the net on Nicklas Backstrom's shot that Halak barely fought off in the second period. Montreal should be a little concerned because they may not be able to play a better game than they did last night while the Caps certainly can take things up another notch here.
Four still to go.
