Caps vs. Canadiens 1-5-2010 Wrap Up

The Local Yokels:

(Com)Post: winning debut, new captain.  Examiner.  Caps.com.

The Neutral Observers:

NHL.com.  AP Wire: Recap, #8, #14.

The Other Side:

The Gazette: test failed, notebook.

Final Thoughts:

Depsite scoring two goals (including one into his own net) and two assists, we'll wait more than just one game before we declare Tomas Fleischmann playing center a sucess.  Though because European wingers tend to play better with European centers, Alexander "Slappy" Semin breaking out his funk isn't too much of a surprise.  We don't like the old bad habit of bad third period penalties creeping back, Mike Knuble knows he was lucky to have escaped his second penalty.  Maybe it was because he didn't have much to do during the game that Michal "Bebe" Neuvirth decided to take a shot at the empty net there at the end?  Whatever it was, let's hope he doesn't do it again because he too almost got burned on that.

42 down, 40 to go.
