Tonight the Caps head up I-95 to face the Philadelphia Flyers in their home opener. The Caps split the season series with the Flyers last year with each team winning once at home and on the road. The Flyers have gotten off to a strong start themselves, winning big in Carolina and New Jersey to start their season.

What Do We Expect Tonight?:
It may be only the 3rd of 82 games for both teams but tonight poses a real test for them. The Caps are putting their discipline and Power Play abilities to the test by not only playing the Flyers, but playing them on the road in their home opener. You know the Flyers are going to be hitting everything that moves and a few things that don't feeding off their rabid (and we mean rabid) fans and keeping them riled up. The Flyers however are playing the most potent offense they've faced so far this season. Ray Emery has been impressive in his return from exile in Russia but this isn't New Jersey or Carolina that he's facing. If the Caps can get off to a quick start and maintain their discipline by not taking retaliation penalties, they have a good chance at winning tonight's game. However, we find it hard to choose against any team in their home opener because of the emotion involved.
Caps Nut Official Prediction:
Caps 2
Flyers 3
