Final Thoughts:

After watching the highlight package of this game; I have to say that it very much looks like the Caps got hosed last night in Raleigh. I redirections like A.O.'s have been counted before and I'm sure I'll see them get counted again in the future. The Brind'Amour high stick was very close but there's really no arguing a clock situation. Though once again the Caps fight back within a goal in the third period but cannot complete the comeback and either force overtime or win the game.

26 down, 76 to go.

Washington Capitals (8-18; 18 points) @ Florida Panthers (12-14; 25 points):
Caps Game #27, Road Game #15, NHL Game #377.

Tonight the Caps end their 10 games in 17 days stretch where it all began in Sunrise Florida when they face the Panthers for the fourth time in this stretch and this season. All three games so far have been decided by one goal and gone the Panthers way including Wednesday's marathon gimmick which was so exciting and breathtaking, I had to leave before it was over. But anyway, after Wednesday's skills competition, the Panthers lost at home the next night 4-3 to the Boston Bruins which brought a four game winning streak to an end.

What Do I Expect Tonight?:

Bruce Boudreau is right, there's a black cloud hanging over this team and it's been hanging over this team all season. That black cloud cost Glen Hanlon his job and it might require Fathers Damien Karras, Lankester Merrin, and/or Jebedaiah Mayii to get rid of it. But the games still must be played and the Caps are literally limping into their five day break. The big key for the Caps tonight is to get on the scoreboard first. This means no stupid penalties or defensive mistakes early in the game. It would also be very beneficial to the Caps if somebody other than A.O. could get on a hot streak and start scoring goals.

Caps Nut Official Prediction:

Caps 2
Panthers 3
Winner by Zednik

(16-10 on the season)
